Spring has officially sprung in Arizona and I am absolutely loving every minute of it. Something about the season just feels so new and fresh. I think of it as a chance to press the restart button on pretty much any aspect of my life in need of it. One of my favorite things about spring is all the beautiful pops of color everywhere. Typically I like everything darker whether it be clothing, nails or makeup. But, in the spirit of embracing spring I have been making a serious effort to add some color back into my life.
This time of year, there are a few colors that come into my mind and truly make me think of spring time. Of course the pastels but specifically the yellows, oranges and pinks. Now, when it comes to beauty, for me anyway, I typically don’t go for pinks because it really does not compliment my skin tone or hair color whatsoever. I LOVE yellow but that is definitely something I am kind of lacking in my beauty collection. However, oranges are something that I absolutely love incorporating in my looks even if I am going for a darker eye. They just look so flawless and the warmth really works well with my skin tone and dark features.
Come spring time, I really like to incorporate some skin care products that are going to make my skin glowy and flawless because once summertime is closer I would rather be wearing a light foundation or cc cream than a product that is covering up all my flaws. The Ole Henriksen Truth Serum is an absolutely amazing product for this. It is a liquid consistency that I apply before my moisturizer day and night. The vitamin C has noticeably brightened my skin and the collagen boost I feel as really made my skin more radiant and smooth. I love this product and will always have this in my routine. Another skincare item I love incorporating this time of year is the Origins GinZing refreshing eye cream. I add this to my morning routine or before working out and it just adds a beautiful glow underneath the eyes.
Rah! Rah! Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Gloss is a beautiful light peachy melon color. It just adds a light flush to the lips and truthfully I didn’t expect to love this but it looks so settle while adding a pop of color. The Lancôme La Vie Est Belle perfume is quite pricey but since I am a true lover of musky scents the small sizes are just enough to get me through Spring/Summer. This perfume isn’t quite as floral as you would expect it to be with notes of orange blossom, sambac and jasmine. The patchouli, praline and iris really help to balance it out and add a bit of spice to the scent. For someone who does not go near floral scents I have to say this is a MUST!
The CoverFx Enhancer Drops in Sunlight are gorgeous for adding a golden glow to the skin. There are so many ways to use this product. Adding a settle drop to your foundation, using it on the highlights of your face before or after foundation, as an eye shadow and the list goes on. I love using this before my foundation for spring time. It adds a bit of dewiness to my skin and sometimes I follow up with a powder highlighter to enhance it even more. Dose of Colors is my absolute favorite beauty line for liquid lipsticks and I have been absolutely obsessed with truffle lately. It is a darker mauve nude but on my skin tone it leans a little more burnt orange.
Two oldies but goodies are MAC peaches blush, MAC melon loose pigment and MAC Coppering eye shadow. I absolutely love both of these products and have for many years. Peaches blush is exactly that. It is a gorgeous coral peach color that absolutely compliments any skin tone. It just adds a little pop to the cheeks with being too cool or too warm. Melon loose pigment is the perfect golden peach shade. It is so simple but adds such a beautiful glow to the eyelids. I definitely recommend using these with MAC fix+ or eye drops if you are in a bind on your brush to truly make the pigment stick and pop. Coppering is probably one of my all time favorite eye shadows. It is literally the most gorgeous copper color that so beautifully enhances brown or blue eyes. It is a MUST have and the bold color definitely compliments a more simple look.
These products are all perfect for the spring time beauty picks! Share yours in the comments below! I would love to hear about them.
