If you could only take one beauty product to a desert island what would it be?
HA! You couldn’t ask me to make any decision more difficult than choosing just one! So, naturally, I have picked three products, let me tell you how hard even that was. Surprise surprise…I couldn’t leave out the skincare so yup…I chose three of those as well. I know, I know I cheated big time. But, in my opinion, I did really well narrowing it down. Trust me…for someone who justifies the twenty products used for a “minimal make up look” this is a huge accomplishment. I promise 🙂
Of course I wanted to choose beauty products that will provide me with an even complexion and make my dark features pop even more. When going for a minimal make up look I really try to enhance my eyes and eyebrows. Because, my hair is so dark I really have to make sure those are prominent otherwise it is easy for my face to be washed out. For skin, the most important thing to me is being clean and hydrated. For someone who has dry skin and therefore dry lips it is so important for me to always be moisturized otherwise I can be quite miserable!
Lancôme Hypnose Drama Mascara is probably one of the most intense mascaras I have every tried and highly underrated. I really never hear anyone talk about this and it truly makes my lashes look so long and voluminous. Perfect for giving the eyes some definition without needing any other products.
There are so many great tinted moisturizers out there nowadays. There are two that I have been wanting to try out but until I have a chance to pick up and test those out this one still remains my favorite! Benefit Big Easy is a liquid to Powder formula with SPF. This is perfect for evening the complexion and because the product actually sets itself it’s a great 2 in 1 for the complexion.
The first time I tried Benefit Gimme Brow I actually didn’t like it and gave it to my roommate at the time. Recently, I ran out of my Anastasia Clear Brow Gel and when I went to repurchase decided I wanted something with color but didn’t like Anastasia for this (their colors seem to have little specs of glitter in them to me). So, Benefit re-released their brow products and I thought I would give it a try again. I absolutely love it! 2-3 coats really gives my brows a feathered bold look without any other product but with a brow pencil I just do one to keep them in place!
Clinique Take The Day Off Balm has been a cleanser that I have fallen in complete love with since trying it out over a month ago. It really melts all of my make up off but the second time around makes my skin feel truly “cleansed”. Of course I need something to take off the beauty products with in order to ensure my skin is clean and blemish free!
The lips are so important especially for someone like me who literally has dry everything. I have to take extra care of my skin so hardly am I ever with found with naked lips. If I don’t have a lip product on then I HAVE to have a lip balm on it just drives me insane if there isn’t anything working on that moisture! This Bigelow Night Balm is so nice. It is one of the few products that is still there when I wake up. I love that it is in a tube and provides a glossy look for my lips which I love!
This will get it’s own post very soon! The First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Moisturizer is just amazing…I’ll leave it there for now!
So now I ask you! What products would you take with you!? I know…it’s so hard!
