For the past year, maybe even longer, facial oils became all the rage in the beauty world. It started with Josie Maran Argan Oil and took seemingly off from there. Many women believe that this skincare technique is something for dry skin only but what they don’t know is it is actually great for oily skin as well. It can help to control the amount of oil your skin produces because it tricks your skin into thinking it doesn’t need as much.
There are countless oils that I have tried in the past and some I love but some just didn’t work for me. For the thousandth time, I have dry skin which most of you already know. I should literally have a banner across the homepage of my blog saying “My name is Kayla and I have dry, dehydrated, and dull skin!” so I don’t have to remind you all in every post. Believe it or not I have actually tried oils that haven’t been hydrating enough for me and most I still have to incorporate a cream with. But then again, I would feel right without using a cream.
The Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil which is definitely on the expensive side at 62 dollars. I have written about this before and did love it at the time. However, with my skin becoming more dehydrated as it got colder I could no longer work with this product. It just didn’t hydrate my skin the way I wanted it to. Every time I used it I felt like I really need to compensate with a heavy cream to hydrate my skin the way I wanted. If you have oily, combination or normal skin I am sure you will absolutely love this oil.
The L’Oréal Age perfect Glow Renewal Oil is definitely the best oil found in the drugstore because it makes your skin glow like you wouldn’t expect. It adds so much hydration to the skin but it does take a while to sink in so applying this a while before bedtime is key. My favorite use for this oil is adding a drop into my foundation because it just makes it glide on so smooth and gives that dewy look. This is definitely one of my go to products when my skin feels tight and chapped.
When I was younger I remember my mom using bio oil for different purposes and because it is supposed to be so amazing I picked up a bottle at Ulta a while ago. The fun part about this product is that they carry three different sizes so you really can just purchase the amount you need or know you’re going to use. I found so many women use this product for different things because it is incredibly universal. As far as oils go this one basically claims to be the miracle product and improve acne scars, uneven skin tone, aging skin, dehydrated skin, and it can be used as an after sun treatment. The directions say that it has to be used consistently twice a day for three months to see drastic improvements. While I do love this oil I don’t love it as much as my current favorite because the next one I am going to talk about is ever so slightly more hydrating for my skin.
My most recent find and obsession is InstaNatural Rosehip Seed Oil which is an organic product that can be purchased through their website or on Amazon. Not only does this smell amazing it really helps to hydrate my skin. I use this to remove my makeup and then I press it into my skin after washing with my Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. This can be used on your face, skin, nails and hair. I don’t think this product will ever leave my routine because it just feels so hydrating and glowy on my skin.
What oils have you tried that you love? There are some really amazing ones out there…personally I would love to try the Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio Repair Precious Oil!
